Hot Topics in EIS Fund Due Diligence
Who would have thought that we would have the ability to coerce 35 or 40 people into an evening panel discussion on 5th March 2020 at Lewis Silkin’s offices on Chancery Lane with such an alluring title? A fantastic and stimulating audience attended the event including EIS investors, wealth managers, platform providers and even the odd lawyer.
A great evening seemed to be had by all as we discussed everything but the Coronavirus situation, but freely debated transparency on EIS manager fees, conflicts of interest, IPEV guidelines and the role of EISA in establishing trust between investors and fund managers.
The participants on the Panel included:
- Luke Barnett, Lead Analyst, MJ Hudson Allenbridge
- Ewoud Karelse, Head of Tax Advantaged Investments, Tilney Financial Planning
- Kealan Doyle, Investment Manager, Symvan Capital
The discussion was pretty wide ranging whilst being focussed on some of the most burning issues for the EIS investment community. Download a summary of the panel discussion here.
Symvan Capital would like to take this opportunity to roundly applaud the efforts of Timothy Leeson, a corporate finance and venture capital partner at Lewis Silkin LLP, for arranging and supporting a spectacular event.
We hope to see even more investors and market participants at the next event.
